Coronavirus FAQ's

Last Updated May 7, 2020

Will we have a season?
District 10 is now postponing our regular season to align with Washington’s reopening phased approach. Essentially, this would mean an extended Fall season. While the details and timing are not fully known an example of a season restart would be:
  • Practices restart in Phase 3. This probably means practices starting in July
  • Games beginning in Phase 4. This probably means games starting in August and continue into October
  • Kids that are currently Little League age 12 but turn 13 during this season would still be allowed to play in Majors
  • All-Stars is still TBD but would only be in the local district if it happens.
When will the board next be meeting?
We have not scheduled our June meeting yet.  We will post on Facebook and email out notice about our next meeting once the details are decided on.

Can our team still practice?
At this time all of our team activities are postponed.  We will provide information on when teams can begin practicing again.  All Fife School fields are closed at this time.

What can we do at home?
Little League has a great source of information for at home baseball drills located at https://www.littleleague.org/university/resources/all/?article-categories=backyard-tip

What if my kid cannot play in an extended season thru summer?
If these changes do not work for your family, you can request a refund of your registration fees at https://forms.gle/VofGMvPLEa9Cs2hv6

When will the season restart?
We are working with our local District 10 leadership on updates to this date as things change.  Currently the expected start to games is August 1st.

Why not cancel the season now?
To prevent the needs to redraft teams completely we are considering this a season restart rather than a new season.  We will be assessing the viability of the above plan for our community in June. Some areas of concern include:
  • How many kids remain in the various divisions
  • How many coaches remain able to coach
  • Do we have board members or other volunteers available to run the season
  • Do we have fields available
Can I get a refund now (Majors BB/SB, Minor AAA/AA BB, Minor A SB)?
You can request a refund of your registration fees at https://forms.gle/VofGMvPLEa9Cs2hv6

Can I get a refund now (Minor A BB, Minor B SB, T-ball)?
You can request a refund of your registration fees at https://forms.gle/VofGMvPLEa9Cs2hv6

What is your refund policy
Our current refund policy is:
Refunds may be requested by contacting the Player Agent. Refunds should be requested by the registration closure date for the division. Refunds requested after this date until games begin will incur a $20 fee. FME Little League will not issue refunds once games have begun.

We have updated the policy for the 2020 season to not charge a $20 fee for registration refunds.  We will also be refunded late fees.  Please note that registrations do not include the $3 per transaction fee that Stack Sports charges.

Can we have our refund be used as a credit for a future season?
Yes, we can leave the balance on your account to be used for a future season.

Can I donate my registration fee?
Yes, you can donate your registration fee if your kid cannot play.

My question is not listed here.
If your question is not listed here please email us at [email protected]  If you have refund questions please email [email protected]

Thank you,

Coronavirus update

FME Little League Community,

Thank you for your patience as we waited for further direction from Little League and Washington State. We know these are challenging times for most of you in our community. We also know that there are many kids, parents, and coaches who wish they could play the sports they love.

At tonight’s board meeting a number of decisions were made that align with both Little League and Washington State direction. The two most impactful items were around updating the refund policy and updating the season status.

Registration Cancellation Policy
We approved for the 2020 season a removal of the $20 fee on registration refunds. While we had about $15K in expenses (fields, uniforms, etc.) already paid out when we had to stop the season, we believe we are able to do this and still be in a good financial position for next season.
  • Refunding registration fees will include refunding late fees
  • This does not include the $3 per transaction fee that Stack Sports began charging in January.

What do you need to do?
If you want to wait for a potential season restart then you do not have to do anything right now. However, if you need to cancel your registration, please fill out the following form:

The first wave of refund requests will be processed over the next couple of weeks. We are working with our registration provider to hopefully refund back on the original card for most families. We expect the first wave of refunds to go through the week of May 18-22.

Please note that we will honor refund requests until games start. This means you can likely wait until July 31st to see if the plan will work for your family. We will provide an update in July on this timing.

If you have any questions please email [email protected]

Sincerely,

FME Little League Board

About FME Little League

Dear FMELL Families,

As we watch the seasons change and the weather warm up it’s very difficult for us to see our baseball fields stay empty. We know all of our athletes and coaches want to be out on the fields making memories, building friendships, and having fun.

As you may have heard, Little League International recently updated the postponement of the season to start no earlier than May 11th. We will be working with our local Little League District 10 leadership, Little League International, and local authorities to determine when we can safely gather as teams and restart the season.

Please read this open letter to the parents that Little League published this week:
https://www.littleleague.org/news/little-league-open-letter-to-parents

Once we have a clearer picture of when the season will start, we will provide updated information on each division. It is very likely that if we have a season the schedule would be extended much further than normal.

Many of you are wondering if we will be initiating refunds. Unless we have direction from Little League International that the season is canceled, we are planning to have our season restart. However, we will also be reviewing our finances over the next month in case the season is shortened or canceled to prepare for the possible event of refunds or credit toward the next season. We thank you for your patience as we wait for further direction, we do not want to take premature action that would impact the many teams that have already been created.

For now, please keep playing catch with your son or daughter. There are other tips located here as well, but please keep them fun if you use them!
